The menu showcases classic American diner fare, with particular praise for breakfast items such as omelets, bagels, and French toast, all delivered in generous portions. The food quality is regarded as consistently good, paired with reasonable pricing that customers find appealing. Mac’s has become my go to dinning establishment in the Butler area. I eat there at least once a week cuz the food is excellent, Mary and crew are always happy and fun to deal with and in the warmer months I can bring my pup and they make him hamburger patties! Tasty and fast!
Super friendly.More spacious and bright than it appears from the outside. Surprised they have 3 rooms.Place order at the register. They give you a number for the table and deliver your food. Help yourself to drinks. The food was good. Regular diner food. Large bowl of wedding soup for the price.I would return!

Mac’s cafe on Route 8 in Butler is an absolute gem of a restaurant. The food is exceptional, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Simple, delicious, American fare that is hard to beat. Best breakfast in Butler..
NIce local cafe with good food. The omelets are really big and you get plenty of home fries. Coffee is good and you refill drinks on your own. The only thing I didn’t like what you have to order right at the front door and then sit down. They give you a number and bring the food to you. Other than that it’s all pretty much on your own. It’s still worth stopping and the breakfast are niceThese people work at service and do a great job. The place is also kept really clean. The bathrooms are immaculate.
I was in Butler, PA early in the morning & was in need of a good breakfast. I stumbled upon Mac’s Route 8 Cafe. I pulled into the parking lot and noticed it was to busy. I walked in and was greeted warmly by the hostess. I told her I was a first timer, she quickly went over how things are done there. First, you place your order at the counter & are given a numbered table tent, they bring your meal to you. Second, you select your coffee mug at the counter as well. There is a coffee bar where you refill your drink & get your cream & sugar. You also seat your self, tables or booths are your options. I had the standard scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon (crispy) & white toast with butter. My coffee was good, hot & fresh. I do put a lot of cream in there, so I make it more of a latte. As the morning progressed, the restaurant filled up quick. I had a feeling the is a local haunt for sure. A few minutes later our waitress brought out our breakfast entrees. It was perfectly prepared & really hit the spot. You really can’t go wrong with a nice hardy breakfast. The atmosphere was very relaxing & calm, just the locals chatting & enjoying their breakfast. I very much enjoyed my dinning experience here. The staff was awesome & the food was great. I strongly recommend you try a breakfast here.
First time being at Mac's Cafe. My only reason for giving 4 stars for the atmosphere is because if I hadn't been with someone who's familiar with their unique way of service, then I would of been lost. The staff should greet the guest and immediately explain the process. This restaurant has you look at the menu as you walk inside and place your order and drink type, then you pay. After seating yourself, you go to the drink station to serve yourself. The servers do check up on the tables regularly, and they all were excellent and friendly. Our food arrived very fast and it was delicious. The menu has plenty of options. The atmosphere was clean and inviting. The prices are fair and reasonable. Overall, this place is a must! They have several years of awards for best restaurant in the area.
A great comfort food kind of diner! You order and pay at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. Self serve coffee and tea. I enjoy this type of diner. Good food, no frills menu, and a homey feel. Prices are very reasonable. I've been there a few Sunday mornings. It's busy and it was hard to park but the friendly employees really keep the line moving once inside.
